gsr = more horsepower, premium fuel, all of them are standard trannsmisions, also 1 more ft/lb of torque

my guess is (not sure though) gsr is higher insruance.

well, to put it in simple terms the gsr is the better performing version. its set up with a better engine and i beleive it has a sportier suspension set up for better handling. which one should you get depends upon how much money you got really....the ls is going to be cheaper to come by than a gsr, and depending where you are it may be harder to find one than the other. around here (upstate ny) you'll see 25 ls's for every 1 gsr. so if ya got enough $$$ and can find one, buy a gsr if your into performance. and if you got even more money at your disposal go looking for a type r.....

Also, bear in mind that the 94-01 GSR and 97-01 Type R models are still very popular targets for auto theft. Expect significantly higher insurance rates, particularly if you are a new driver.

With any Integra, theft is still an issue. So invest in a clutch lock and a quality alarm system with a starter-kill or fuel-pump kill feature. [Check out our Audio & Security forum for more info...]

just go for the cleanest car you find. if it's an ls or a gsr, so be it. if you just want something cool to drive, go for the ls, if you really want the extra performance, go for the gsr.

Realistically, the aftermarket support for both models is so vast, you can make either car perform quite well for reasonable money.

the only time a difference b/n gsr and ls is completely obvious is when they're almost stock... biggest thing about a teg is the money you're willing to put into it if you're a gearhead and love horsepower! if you just want to buy something that's sporty and wanna keep it stock the gsr is of course a much quicker fun car to drive, but the ls is still a fun car just not as quick!
it all boils down to what you're looking for personally and money of course!

Not in the United States.

There was a version of the JDM Integra that was made available with an automatic transmission, but it never came here.

Please provide a link to your source, because it is not accurate.

The non-vtec Integras (RS,LS,GS) had an optional 4-speed automatic, the US market GSR Integra came with a 5-speed manual only.

thats the options for all model integras not specifically the gsr. u have two different brake options/ and the non-vtec and vtec option.

there was never a automatic gsr sold in the united states period.

people can swap the transmission. i've seen it done because people hurt themselves and can't drive stick, but want to keep the car.

it doesnty matter what it says, it's wrong. and the LS transmision will bolt up to the gsr block, or vice versa, so anything is possible... but stock- not a chance.

as for the original poster-

choose which one you want, the GSR's ride is a little stiffer and it's quicker than the LS, but they are far less common. gsr's will cost you more any way you cut it, between insurance and inital cost, as well as having to put premium gas in, though it's only about 3 dollars more per tank, and yes it does require premium, and yes you can run it on regular, but pay no mind because it does require premium.

one word of advice, be patient and make sure of your options. dont buy the first car you see and give it some time to sink in. find yourself a nice deal and a nice STOCK car.

This thread has wandered so far off-topic, I doubt it can be salvaged.
Besides, it really has nowhere left to go.
