did you have the hand on the shift knob? if so maybe the weight of your hand just pulled it back into neutral, thats happened to me before, even w/o clutching

there is a point on ur revs that will make it very easy for that gear to come right now... it's not a huge issue... were you cruising (like holding at a single rev for a while), im not sure what inside, but i know it's a little tranny issue... possibly someone else can shed more light on it for me as well

i know that when giving it gas you can not, and wouldnt want to, ull it out of gear. but if you let off on the gas u can pull it outa gear w/o pushing in the clutch. The RPM at which it poped out is I BELIEVE the RPM you can shift into 4th w/o using the clutch. Ive done this all the way up to fifth. Start out using the clutch but from 1-2 2-3 3-4 4-5 it is possible not to use the clutch. It slides right in. I DONT RECOGMEND IT cuz you will here grinding but i knew i was getn a new clutch so i didnt care. BTW what is the grinding, the clutch plate right.......not the gears?

when the syncro's line up at a certain rpm in the tranny, the tranny can be shifted without clutching

It could be just an isolated incident. If the problem occurs again and becomes progressively worse, you can probably count on an overhaul of the transmission.

    3rd gear

hey i dont know if you've ever heard of your direct drive gear, but all standard trans have them most are usually 4th gear but some are 3rd. Possibly urs. It is possible for ur direct drive gear to pop out when accelarating and hit the smallest bump that it will pop out like you explained. If it is that direct drive popping out like that than its not a problem at all. Basically can say sh*t happens. Now if it keeps happening, you may want to get it checked, possibly ur blocker rings or clutching teeth or even ur synchronizer assembly. All 3 of which(along with other parts of course) make it possible to shift and hold in gear.
I reccomend doing research on figuring out what gear is your direct drive. If someone tells you there isnt a direct drive, dont believe them. They are simply dumb! Hope this helps--------------Tony

oh by the way, direct drive is also called final drive. Also i did more research and found that chances are its your motor mounts are bad or simply loose. Or your external shift linkage is bad or out of adjustment. Since i believe almost all FWD cars are cable linkage instead of hydraulic, the cables do strech and make em outta adjstment.

You must be confused. We are talking about the shift linkage, not the clutch. No integra has a cable linkage.
