running on 3 cylinders...
So it appears my gsr is only running on 3 cylinders. I know I'm getting spark from my plug and wire and it looks like fuel is being dumped in (since my nearly new plug is already covered in gas deposits...). So what all could be causing my car to only run on 3 cylinders? I'm thinking it's a faulty injector to blame but what else could it be? Just curious what you guys think.

Without any data its hard to tell. Did you do a compression test? I doubt you're ONLY running on 3 cylinders because the engine wouldn't run. Maybe not enough fuel is getting in, and not enough spark, causing a misfire. I recommend doing a full tune-up, and if that doesnt work, take it to somewhere where they can plug the sucker in and pull a diag code for ya.

Well, I have done new plugs, wires, air and fuel filters over the past 6 months or so...I ordered a cap and rotor from Acura that should be here next week. But I don't think that's going to fix my problem.

We pulled the plug wires one at time and for cylinders 1-3, the idle dropped significantly, but for cylinder 4 (closest to distributor) the idle didn't really change at all. And like I said, that plug looked pretty bad (rich) and it's only a few weeks old. All the other plugs were fine...

yeah i dont think a cap and rotor will change anything. if ur sure the wires are fine I would think injector. make sure that all the wires are fine. u can check them with an ohm meter and compare the resistances. they should be either the same or slightly different. and Patman015 a car will run on 3 cylinders it will run rough as hell but it will run.

how do you know you are getting a spark in that cylinder? and yeah a teg will still run on three cyl. Idle raises up to compensate and it sounds bad, but it'll run.
