Does anyone have bushings installed? IE: Energy Suspsension or some other brand.

I am thinking of doing this, but does it really make a difference? Has anyone re-done thier suspension w/aftermarket bushings, and does it make a difference. Just wondering...

I would really only consider polyurethane bushings as a last resort if all other methods of improving handling have been exhausted. The amount of effort it takes to install an entire set will not make it a casual weekend job. If you haven't done so yet, you may want to consider some stiffer springs with a rear swaybar to stiffen the suspension up a good amount.

Yes i have. Yes it is a huge pain to do. Yes it does make a big difference. After having it done all myself, I would take a the suspension parts off, take it to a machine shop, have them press out all the old bushings. Getting the new ones in is easy.

Thanks guys. Living in CA I am done w/performance upgrades. My suspension is Progress springs/camber kit/kyb 4-ways/front and rear strut bars. Bushings seemed like the next thing to do for suspension. I'll put it on ice for now.

How many parts did you end up having to take to a shop? What does that cost? I've heard war stories about this...

I did it all myslef. It took an air saw, 4 or 5 blades a big vice and lots of pounding with a big hammer. Im just saying that doing it that way is a lot of work and takes a lot of tools. If you dont have access to tools and a shop its going to be tough. I did all the rear at one time and the all the front later.

You should look into a thicker rear sway bar if you don't have one already. It will really compliment your current setup with a whole lot less body roll.

Is that the bar that goes across the bottom of the rear end or does it replace an existing sway bar?

Sounds like a pain in the ass, but I bet the car rides great...

Yeah, it replaces the 16 mm? stock swaybar with an ITR 23 mm swaybar. You will need to reinforce this bar better since the subframe will tear out and you can do that with the Comptech sway/tie bar combo like I have or you can use another reinforcement kit that doesn't use a tie bar. This mod is seriously the best mod I have done to increase my handling. The body roll and understeer reduction makes the car a whole lot more neutral.
