Default unusually high rpms

okay. my teggy is struggling. It has a b16 motor and tranny swap, yessir. IT seems like it is just not geared right or something. First through Fourth feel okay, but it's turning about 3,000rpm at 60 mph, in Fifth. The car also has 18' rims on it but that would drop the rpms for a given speed. Is there some funky final drive ratio thats different in a jdm transaxle or what's going on here??? i am so confused....

my g2 was the same, highway speeds run really high rpms, the newer teg has a taller final gear im guessing, because its a lot lower in the band when im running 60mph. im sure a newer gs-r tranny would bolt up an make you smile...

3000rpm at 60 really isn't abnormal at all.

18' (18 foot) wheels would certainly impact the RPMs.. however 18" wheels with proper size tires wont gave much effect assuming overall tire diameter is close to OEM.

however, i'm sure those 18" wheels weigh 25+ lbs each. so getting those rolling will take some effort that a B16 can't put out very well. also, the GSR will cruise at a higher speed because of the higher FD. the ITR cruises at even higher RPMs. the LS transmissions should cruise around that area.
