Default Lifter Nut question

Should the nut on the lifter be tightened down snug, or should there be a really precise torque spec on this?

If it is the locknut on the rocker arm you are referring to when you say lifter, the torque for the LS motor is 18 ft-lbs and the GSR motor is 14 ft-lbs.
