Default Type R exhaust on an LS

I have a chance to get a type r exhaust for $120. Would I see any gains or will it sound better on my stock ls?
Thanks

Minimal and minimal.... I'd save some more and buy something like a GReddy SP or an Apexi WS

You'll see gains similar to a chambered aftermarket exhaust like the Apex'i World Sport.
If everything's in good shape, I'd go for it.

There were minor changes in the length of the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter...so you may need to have a muffler shop fabricate an extension if your manifold and cat are shorter than the type R setup.

I'm assuming that your LS is a 2dr coupe. If it's a sedan, some tweaks will need to be made...

The ITR exhaust is the same length as the 2dr LS. The header is the same length, and the cat is the same length.

The exhaust does not include the muffler to piping bolts. What size bolts will I need to replace these and what else will I need for the install. Do I need any exhaust gaskets or anything of that sort?
Thanks

I have now found a tanabe super racing medallion and it says it fits 97-01 Type Rs and 99-01 GSRs. However, when I look on the web site, it says the 94-01 rs,ls, gsr has a different part number. Is this the part number for the 4-door, it is a little confusing. I need one for a 94 ls coupe. Thanks

I think the 00-01 GSR has the same length exhaust because they started using a different sized cat. The ITR exhaust will bolt right up to an LS.
