Default so my radiator cracked...

I was just thinking i need to replace it the other day but figured it would be ok for a bit since it only has 80k on it. It decides to crack on the top inlet tank when im visiting a friend 4 hours away. I use a combination of a radiator repair kit and jb weld (good stuff recommend to keep some in the car, the quick dry one) to get it home watching the temp guage. Ordered a new one from radiatorbarn.com on mon and it gets here on tues very quick. Got it all in and only took 2 hours or so. So now it has a all metal 2 row heavy duty. Then a sliverstar decides to go out. Hopefully thats all. Just thought i would share. Its good to have jb weld just in case save me a lot of headaches.

Replacing the SilverStars can get expensive after awhile, especially if are using the 9005 conversion (they don't last as long). But glad to see you got everything taken care of with the radiator. Towing the car that many miles wouldn't have been fun.

I had to tow my car 1 hour to my parents house after the timing belt snapped...then I towed it 7 hours from their house to my house in san diego.

I had the same problem with my radiator, around the same mileage...hondas are infamous for that.

It was funny cause jsut before i left i was telling my roomates i was probably gonna need a new radiator soon. Just a weekend too late. I knew of the problems but thought i could get probalby 100k out of it. The raditor only cost me 122 shipped so not too bad.
I have the 9006s. I like them better than the stock ones. Hopefully i wont have to replace the other one soon. I was just thinking about how long my silverstars had lasted on the way home. I should stop thinking

I just replaced mine at 77k. I was walking away after I pulled in at work, and as I walked around the front of my car without thinking twice I stepped over a puddle of coolant. Took a few more steps and thought what the ****? Turned around and my car was taking a leak. I looked under the hood and couldn't find the leak, so I turned on the car and came around front and the seams on the top of the radiator were spewing like sprinklers at 2:00 in the morning at Dodger Stadium. What a mess!!! No warning at all, just happened. Got it fixed for 3bills at Goodyear, I don't mess w/fluids.
