Difference between High lift cams and turbo cams?

High lift all motor cams create valve overlap in order to make more power. Valve overlap bleeds boost because the valve open duration is longer, so turbo cams use more lift without the longer duration to make power, without bleeding boost.

High lift means exactly that, the valves are opened higher then factory spec.
Duration is how long they are open. N/A applications tend to be high duration with a good bit of overlap for better flow. Boosted applications use short duration cams to prevent the boost from seeping out the exhaust valve (little to no overlap.)
Normal: moderate lift, moderate duration
N/A street: higher lift, longer duration
turbo: very high lift, short to moderate duration
N/A race: very high lift, very long duration
