What kind of strut bar wont rub?

When i bought my 92 integra rs,it already had a strut bar on the front...whoever put it on,didnt bold it on all the way,and it was rubbing on a piece that attaches to the intake...rubbing badly...

What kind of strut bar would have the clearance to make it over that piece,i will take pictures if i need to...

In an old listing for megan racing strut tower bars,it had said that it has better clearance, are these megan racing bars any good? here's a current listing for front and back: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33591

    Please let me know.
Also, there is a 4 piece set that includes the front and rear tie bars for about 20 bucks more,is it worth it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33591

I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and $70 for all 4 sounds a little on the low side of things. If you could take a picture of your engine so we could see that would help a great deal. I have never heard a strut bar rubbing the intake. What bar do you have???

    i see but...

yea,70 dollars is a lil low,i agree, but there are a few factors...first is,there are no strut tower bars for much more, megan racing is a name brand that i have heard of before, and the prices must be competitive....with time and compitition, all prices drop....

Also, its 70 bucks+like 45 bucks shipping...shipping should only actually cost about 10-15 bucks,so he is pretty much charging 100 bucks for it...

Anyways,i just took a few pics to show what im talking about, whats its rubbing on,i dont know where the old strut bar is,but it was a no-name piece of generic crap anyways....look at the pics, and if you can tell me what the hell that thing is called,id be appreciative

Sorry...been watching the Sox win the World Series tonight!

I would think a Neuspeed bar should clear it. They are a good quality bar.

Why not just buy something brand name and not have to worry about asking people "will this fit and rub" with some no name POS brand of bar that nobody has ever heard of, instead of complaining about having to wait for an answer?

You could zip tie some rubber padding to the strut bar. The J's Racing intake is so fat that it hits the bar so some people just stick some padding under there.

I had a cheapie bar on a '92 Integra, auto, with ABS once upon a time. I never had any rubbing problems, all I had to do was move and insulate some of the wiring.

Bringing this thread back because i never really got an answer....ive previously shown a picture of what part is being rubbed on,what im looking for is someone who has a strut bar that isnt doing this...

Got another integra, which had a strut tower bar on it,and it had the same problem, though not as severe as the last....but it will still damage the part its rubbing on...

One of the previous answers sounds alot like "just buy one,and see if it does the same thing" but that sounds a lil bit retarted to me...i have so much i need to get acomplished with this car, theres no point to wasting money on somthing that may not work...

Someone said the neuspeed one would work, but they may not have the same part that mine is rubbing...

Im just looking for a difinitive answer,or someone that had the same problem...

I mean damn, every other person on this forum probably has one,so i think someone may have the answer...dammit

bend the freaking bar. put in on your knee and bend it 1/2 or 1 inch. i had one on my integra and it pissed me off rubbing. i bent it a hair. fuck it. it was en ebay bar anyway. get what you pay for.

    bend it,yea right

Ok,whats the strut bar for?its to stiffin the points it connects to...to keep them in sync...the idea of the strut bar is to keep it rigid.

By bending it,you have ruined it...way to go buddy.

Does anyone have a better idea?I'm looking for someone who purchased one that didnt rub,and doesnt have to be RUINED in order to fit.

I Attached a picture that shows exactly whats rubbed on.
