im trying to build an all motor b20vtec. Ive got a b16a2 and am planning on doing the build keeping the head and getting the b20 block. Now if im gonna get after market high compression pistons and rods, does it matter if its b20z or b20b. Should I sleeve the block even if im not gonna boost? What crank and complete internals should i go with if im tryin to hit low 13's high 12's fully built motor in an 00 si coupe and keep it daily driver and reliable. Reliability is a key and i want to be able to consistently drive the car without running in to problems, i wanna put some power down but not make it a full race car. So what compression would be best for this. And wats all this talk that ive heard about valve to piston clearance. How do I get around that and what other bullshit descrepencies can i run into that i have to take care of? Now I know of the vtec oil line conversion kit and need of oil and water pump, but what other little things are neccessary. Any and all help will help. Thnx
thats more of a "tell me how" i need specifics on most recommended parts and the little stupid things to look out for. And what will make it reliable and if block guards and girdles and stuff like that are necessary.
that thread goes through all the parts you'll need to make a reliable lsvtec. did you read it? do some searches on there and you'll get enough info to keep you reading for years.
