Track Technique?
I tried making a search for this, but didn't really know what to be searching for...
I'd like the be taking my '96 GSR to the track sometime soon here..
My cars stock, and i'm not looking for a sick timeslip or anything...
but a) it'd be nice to have a "stock" slip for comparison purposes once I get the money to start upgradin, and b) it's just too damn fun...
What i'm asking for, from people who've gone to the strips... is a detailed description of your launch....
Simply feather out and redline through all 5 gears?
or Feather out, and get to 2nd and then redline all the way or what?
Thanks as usual!

Drop the clutch with slight feather from 4k.
You won't make it through 5 gears .
You'll be shifting into 4th right at the end, stringing out 3rd.

Eh, like I said, I've not been to a real strip, and i'm stock, so I guess I was being modest with the 5 gear comment.
Thanks for the advice though!

I'd still like to know if theres any other any other advice for decent launches that I can get off of people...
and I know I'm just a stupid noob or whatever, but I don't really appreciate people trying to get my shit deleted... especially off of someone who's bumped their own thread 14 times in the past....
I'm just looking for advice and information... and I appreciate what info I have gotten.

Just take the basic guidelines that people have suggested and expand on them when you are actually at the track. It is hard to explain how to properly drag race, you just need to get out there, practice, and find out what is the most efficient way that YOU can do it.

i agree just get out there and run as much as possible the more you do it the better just feather the clutch a lil bit i feather it between 3 and 4 grand and usually launch riding the clutch a tiny bit and about 3/4 through first just drive the shit out of it bring it to where you think your car is just about to stop makin power but not to early that it kinda falls on its face....Practice makes perfect good luck
