Default Night at the track

MMP dodged the rain last night and I was finally able to hit the track again after breaking an axle on run 2 last visit. I have to say that the learning curve is pretty steep for this kind of power/weight ratio. 1st-3rd are ridiculous; the tires spin like MAD at the top of each gear and I lose all momentum so it bogs a bit going into the next gear.

I was running 13s all night at about 116-118. I only got in about 6 runs and my best was 12.88 @ 116 with a 2.1 60'. It's just going to take some time to learn how to utilize the gas pedal correctly instead of mashing it to the floor and trying to control the clutch.

Just thought you'd like an update.

Get some slicks already! I'll take those DR's and wheels off your hands.

Seriously, it's time for slicks and bigger axles.

I think I'll run these tires until they quit on me and then get some slicks. My only gripe about these wheels is that they are only 6.5" wide. My slips are 7", but my slips are 16s. What's a good sized slick that will fit on a 15x6.5?

With the power you are putting down you need somethng along the lines of 24.5" tall by 8-8.5 wide to even begin to grip. Personally, I would run 13" Lenso's on the front since they are cheap when compared to other drag wheels. Also, I would throw those 15's on the back with the slimmest tire that would fit on them and go run some 11's.

What? You dont need slicks yet. Get the times down with street tires. Have you thought of hooking up a boost scramble? Drive the setup more before you waste money. Driver mod = best mod.

Nice numbers
Traps are good for high 11's
Just get some slicks already.
for best prices on slicks call John @ http://www.mapautoparts.com/
your trap speed will drop 1-2 mph on slicks, but the E.T. will be good.

Tell me about the boost scramble. I'm sticking to the DR's until I can learn them and learn to use the power more effectively. I agree with you dude!

I've dealt with Tom at Camp1320 before. Good guy! I got my ACL bearings from them.

Thanks 1.8T! I'll check them out when the time comes.
