1994-1995 Honda Accord Rear Aftermarket Speaker w/ OEM Gill Fix

This mod may work on all 5th gen. Accords and is probably transferable to any other car as well.

Well if you have aftermarket speakers in your Accord then they may have a higher top mounting size than your stock ones, thus your OEM grills will not fit on top of them. This is a fix to that.

All you need to do is:

Go to the local hardware store and buy some longer screws, I bought 1 1/2 Inch screws, take your speaker grills to find the right Diameter for the screw. I used a metal screw that kind of strips its way into the plastic, worked fine, and my size was #8.

Also, in the hardware section, find Plastic or Nylon/Eurothane Risers, any material will do. Make sure the screw fits through the riser. I used 1 Inch.

Basically just put the riser in between your rear dash and the screw hole on the speaker grill, then run the screws from under your rear dash through them.

Keep in mind you may need larger risers, therefore longer screws.

It's easy.

This is what mine looks like with half inch spacers. I don't feel like taking it apart to show you what it looks like cuz it takes two people and im lazy, but AadosX's directions are perfect so follow those.

To do it yourself, put down your back seat. I think I am going to change over to half inch spacers soon, not sure yet though. As soon as I get home where my digital camera is, I will take some pics for you guys.

Pics w/ 1 inch risers.

hella dirty car... sorry

I'm just gonna stick with this, I'm too lazy for 1/2 inch risers, plus my speakers are really high.
