03 Accord ~Gunmetal headlights~

Hey Everyone, just picked up this 03 beauty. Its 3 months old, time to start taking it apart and changing stuff. Blacked out Headlights are cool, but EVERYWHERE. Had to get creative and pick up some Gunmetal Paint at the local paint store.

Bumper is no biggy, it was off in 10 minutes. About 30 pop pins and a few hex bolts.

Same story on the headlights. But you do have to take off the bumper to take the lights off.

Metallic paint gives you enough gloss to reflect the blinker and ambers without looking dumb.

I decided to keep the amber reflect because the contrast with my car rocks.

Takes about 15 minutes to seperate the housings and 10 to seal them again with apox.

5 hours later, allowing time for paint to dry. Worth every second!!

Total cost, 6.50 worth of paint. Looks from every 03 coupe owner on the road. Priceless.

H.I.D. Kit comes on friday. Rear Debadge pics coming soon. Let me know what you think.

The amber on your Accord is a nice contrast, but the amber against the back ground is a bad contrast.

Nice job though. Take a picture in natural sunlight

Looks really nice, and good job on the DIY. I think it would look better with all clear on that color car though, personally.

If your daring, work on a new grill for that thing.

Is it a coupe?

on a side note, u can link from geocities. rename the file as a .txt instead of a .jpg, .gif, etc. then just post it as you normally would

I decided to keep the amber so it would look almost stock. I tried the cleared out corner, but the light looked huge, somehow the darker color balances how freakin big these headlights are. Day time pics coming soon. Oh, and im working on the front debadge now. Back was already completed.

Yeh the headlights on that car are massive...

I like amber on lightly colored cars but all clear on dark cars.

I painted everything except what is behind the clear housing on the turn signals. Because i used a metallic paint, it still flashes well.

you have to first remove the front bumper by taking off the pops underneath, and the 4 bolts beside each light. a honda dealer can give you tips on how to do it. Once the bumper is removed, the lights remove with 3 screws
