ok... what about the horn sound? cuz i got the keyless entry but everytime i lock the car it makes the horn sound. on the wrx you can disable it, so i am wondering if honda's keyless entry has that option as well?

Hold down the 'OPTION' button for more than one second and you can cycle between having the beep on and off

That what my Integra remote was like. If you tapped the panic button, it would honk the horn as you locked the doors. If you just hit the lock, then it would lock them silently.
I don't know it that helps.

Worked!!!

These instructions worked great on my 2000 Honda Civic HX!! I bout the remote on ebay for $20 because it seemed my original remote was going bad for some reason. The guy sent me some instructions, that had to do with a button on the original Honda radio which I had taken out several months ago. Called up Honda and the women said that most of the security systems are run through the radio unit. She said that if I had it professionally installed that the installer would most likely of known to take care of the security system, and i'd think that he did becuase the security system didnt have any problems. She told me that I would have to bring it in to get the mechanic to have a look at it and would probably cost me anywhere from $50 - 100 and I said hell no!! So i found this forum today and figured why not give a shot. Using the first set of instructions I programmed the new remote and after the 4th stage of turnin the ignition off and on, the locks cycled, so I thought it would be working. Got out of my car and tried it and nothing happened, then I tried my original and that wasnt working either???? Re-read the instructions and saw u had to also program the original again too. So started over, doing both and then the final set of instructions, both remotes cycled the locks. Once again I got out of the car, tried to lock and PRESTO!!! It worked like a charm! Shows that you should read ALL instructions before trying it! Thanks so much for the info.

Does anyone have a TSB for the Honda remotes? I need remote for a 2001 EX 4cyl. What is the correct remote for this model? I guess the FCC ID needs to match for it to work properly?

I tried these instructions on my '97 Prelude and had no luck a'tall.
I just bought the car last week and it came w/ two keyless fobs.
Someone from another site told me that keyless wasn't even an option on the 97 and 98 preludes. Can anyone give a little insight here?

Are the instructions the same for a 2001 Accord EX V6 COUPE??

Can somebody give me some instructions to program a remote I bought off Ebay? I lost both my remote's so I need some instructions to program one as such. Thanks a lot.

Hi folks

Just bought a new used 2003 Civic EX .

Unfortunately, it only came with one remote and I am gonna buy another. What is the correct way of programming a new remote. Would the previous instructions work, they seem to be for older remotes.
Thanks!!!

Those instructions work on our '98 & 2003 Accords. Stabmaster's '97 Prelude might have an aftermarket keyless system, so it'll have it's own procedure.

I tried that procedure for grins on the 2003 Accord, not knowing what to expect. But it worked, so I guess I'd give it a try for the 2003 Civic. Unless you think it's a non-factory keyless system...

97 Honda accord SE

Hi all..... I have a 97 Honda accord SE with remote FCC ID: A269ZUA106 and I tried the above procedure several times and it doesn't work. Do anybody know the procedure for the 97 Honda accord? This factory alarm system is mainly used on honda civics but they put it into my 97 accord maybe because it is a SE.

There's a story behind my car.......The alarm system was cut when it was taken back from the person who wasn't pay the payments. Then I bought it. It had only a key and no keyless entry. I just got one off of ebay and the programming is not working. Can someone tell me if the box that's mounted on the panel just under the steering column is part of that system? If I'm not mistaken 2-4 wires are cut from the smaller little black box. If requested I can post pics of what I'm referring to. Thank you.

I just bought an 01 Civic LX. The car didn't come with a keyless remote, nor does it have the original radio unit. I've been confused about what exactly makes the keyless system work. I've read from multiple places that it works from the radio system. Can I still just buy a remote off ebay? And, if so, how can I find out what FCC ID to use?

1997 Honda Civic EX Keyless remote Programming

I have the remote for programming, but when I put the battery in, the LED lights up and does not go off. I tried programming, with no luck. I'm thinking maybe the remote is faulty. Can anyone help me in this situation.

Keyless Entry Beep

It sounds like I'm the opposite one in here. I programed by 2005 Honda Accord Ex, with sys. security. I can get the doors to unlock, luck, and trunks, but there is no sound... how do I enable it? My remote has only lock, unlock, trunk and panic...
