I found this really informative site which has a DIY for cylinder head porting. There are tons of pictures and examples. Although they use a V8 cast iron head as an example they give tips on how to work with aluminum heads as well (like hondas). I haven't done this myself but am planning to do so next summer when I build my engine up. I'm sure this could be very usefull for other people on here.

Honestly, you can do a mild port and polish job, just don't get carried away. The main thing is removing all the carbon build up. No fuel additive will do that for you, no matter what the can says...

what actually is the main thing is to not slow indutcion velocity. Many port jobs go wrong when people remove material in the wrong places. If you disrupt the velocity if the air flow to the point that flow is in a sense "too easy" you actually end up preventing proper intake...
