Long runner intake modification

Has anyone attempted the following:

Using a 2nd IAB unit (the brick with the butterfly) underneath their original unit with the butterflies removed to increase intake runner length/intake volume? It seems to me that the additional runner length would help increase mid-range torque and throttle response, and the additional volume would be good for top-end power. I'll be trying this soon unless someone else has tried it with poor results. Comments plase!
