Default Under the dash lighting

I have a red neon light that fits under my dash but its one of those stupid plug into your cig lighter for it to work. Well i want to wire it so i am able to turn on and off my lights without that stupid cig lighter. Is there some guide. I have a 94 honda del sol. Do i need to buy some kind of switch for it i plan to have neon on both sides passager and driver. Thanks ahead of time.

Yes, you will have to buy a switch.

The switch should have instructions in the package.

i also have a '94 sol w/ lights under my dash. mine came w/ a transformer... but that's irrelevant in your case. it's so easy it's almost funny. simply run a wire from the battery, or another power wire in the car to the switch. run the power wire from the switch out of the negative terminal on the switch. then run the ground wire to a chassis/wire ground. find a place for the switch, mount it, and mount the neon. hide wires... and you're done
