What do you specifically need to know?
It is pretty straightforward; you just pull the head, put the new gasket on, and put the head back on. |

hahah... it sounds easy! I know it does. Do you use an engine jack or something else? And what's the easiest way? How can you tell if a head gasket is BAD from the maker? I've purchased two head gaskets from "Felpro", and they were both BAD. Although, they were put on before I found the problem. Do you place the gasket on the block then lower the head, or cling the gasket onto the bottom of the head and then lower it? Thanks for any advice or comments. |

I prefer to seat the gasket on the top of the block and put the dowels in before I seat the head.
Don't use Felpro shit. OEM is the best out there and isn't that expensive. With the labor involved in changing it, do it right and get the quality gasket. The head isn't that heavy. Remove all the accesories and bolts and you can lift it off with your hands. It weighs maybe 40 lbs. |
