Seafoam writeup <56k Beware>

Ok. I wanted to see what the whole big deal about Seafoam was so i went and bought 2 bottles @ ~$4 each.

Step 1: Went home to change the oil.

The engine (NA y8 w/ ~90k) was still pretty warm so i let it cool for a bit.

I first put about a 1/3 bottle in the crank:

Step 2: I disconnected my brake booster line and SLOWLY :!: poured in the remaining 2/3 bottle WITH the car running. Sometimes it would sputter and start to die but just slow down the pouring and it'll catch back up. *Some smoking may occur*

This is the line i used.

Step 3: i poured the other bottle into my gas w/ about a 1/2 tank. Yes i know this is too much. I believe this was a reason why i was running hot the other night when i was just sitting around ina parking lot w/ my car running. Not TOO hot.. but warmer than normal.. about 2/3 up the gauge.

Now this is where i think i messed up. The bottle says to let it sit "OFF" for about 5-10 min. I didn't do this. *i did rev a bit while i was Seafoaming through the brake booster. This was all the smoke i got....

I then went for a "spirited" drive down my road.

No huge smoke clouds, no problems... It seemed to run a bit smoother and a bit quieter..

I"ve heard that Seafoaming will foul your plugs... so i pulled all of mine and checked. No different than normal. All 4 looked the same.. *i cleaned 'em w/ carb cleaner anyways..

I returned from about a 15min. drive and changed the oil. Then refilled w/ Castrol GTX StartUp 10w40.

All Done!

This is the next Seafoam Project to go under. 1985 Toyota pickup w/ 256k original miles on the odo. I'm gonna do this on spring break. I'm trying to find gaskets for valvecover and a cheap ass headgasket b/c i'm gonna pull all of em before and after and see how well this stuff works.

i'm not scared of f'in this engine up. It runs but no insurance on it b/c its jsut a "work" truck. As you can tell by the flat tires it really sees alot of "work"

Thats all for now.. sorry for the book
