Header Gasket

I Installed A Header On My 2003 Civic A Few Months Ago. I Just Noticed Today That The Gasket I Made Is Starting Too Fall Apart. Its A Cork Type Material The Guy At The Part Store Told Me To Use It. What Type Of Gasket Materiale Should I Get And Where Can I Buy It At. Thanks For Your Help.

well you may or may not have a leak with a chunk of your gasket missing. go get an oem gasket from a honda dealer. its most likely a metal gasket.

The guy at the parts store is an idiot -- cork is never used for hi-temp gaskets like a header! Gaskets used for exhaust temps like headers and EGR usually have a coating like perforated aluminum foil. Check out the original gasket, or just get a factory gasket and you should be in business.
