Default Major Problems.

About a week or so ago I was leaving work...there was a little bit of mud on the other lane, which I had to turn across to get on the freeway. It splashed onto the passenger side of my car, and up onto the decklid of the trunk. It turns out, there was a little cement mixed in it. There is a quarry company whose trucks dropped it on the road.

Tonight I washed the car and tried to get it off. A lot of it came off just by applying some pressure with the wash mitt. However, some near the rear fender and especially on the trunk lid did not want to come off easily. I had to use my thumbnail (inside the wash mitt) to get some of the larger and harder spots out. Now there are tons of hazy scratch marks in the clearcoat from removing the dried cement. They are not scratches into the paint, just hazy marks on the clearcoat.

What would be the best way to get rid of these marks?

you need adrasives to correct the defects in your paint.

try a polishing compound with an orbital buffer, then wax to protect.

wax:

later.
