f22 swap on 89 civic lx
I am new to the Honda swaps. I can purchase a 98 model F22 for $125. Will it fit in my 1989 Civic LX? If it will fit without major modifications (minor mods are fine) what all parts will i need to do this swap? Thanks BTW if this swap works it will be completely rebuilt with forged internals and turbo'd.

It looks like HASport makes mounts for the f22/h22 to 1989 civic. approx $500 just for the mounts.
+ transmission
+ axles
+ shift linkage
+ ECU and wiring harness mods
+ building up your car's suspension to handle the power of the F22
It would probably be far less of headache to build the f22 up and find an 98 accord shell to put it in.

B-series engines don't bolt to D-series transmissions.
(you would be back to doing a complete swap)
Maybe look at a miniMe conversion for your D15:
-V-TEC head (you could skip the V-TEC and just do the Si Intake manifold)
-Si intake manifold
-wiring mod for V-TEC and fuel injectors to work correctly (maybe, talk to rywire.com) You would be going from dual fuel injectors in you dx to four fuel injectors.
-replace ECU
Auto to manual transmission conversion:
mostly bolt on
-transmission (could be hard to find a 5 speed cable transmission in good condition; there are cable to hydro conversion kits)
-brake/clutch pedal assembly (adjusting the brake push rod to match the brake vacuum booster correctly should be the only tricky part)
-clutch cable
-flywheel
-clutch & pressure plate (use stock or stage 1)
-pilot bearing
-throw out bearing
-shift linkage
-gauge cluster?
-I think, the ECU needs to be changed also.

I'm planning on getting a B18 with a 5-speed tranny. When getting that I will be getting wiring harness and the ECU. I'm just trying to figure out if the mounts are in the same location to swap the motor and tranny.

Look at HASport.com for mounts, axles, etc. for your B18 swap. (stick with the 62A inserts if the car is a daily driver. they're slightly stiffer than stock mounts. but, won't rattle your teeth at idle.)
I think b-series engines use a half shaft on the driver's side to make both axles the same length.
