Default 1997 Acura cl3 Transmission issues plz advise!

hi I have a 1997 Acura cl3 automatic,it has 120,000 miles on it, the car will no longer move in reverse, when I put it into reverse, it does not move, it idles, if I hit the gas it revs and still does not move, When i turn it on now it makes the same loud noise in park, when I put it into 3 or 4th the noise goes away, and th car will drive. I have been told that I need to have the transmission rebuilt at a cost of approx. $1800 which would come with a 24 month or 24,000 mile warranty. what i am wondering is that a good option and will I get a transmission that will be reliable and last?
I have also found a salvage yard that has a 1997 Acura cl3transmission with 113,000 miles on that I can get installed for $1000 with a 60 day warranty.
I need to know what the average lifespan of this cars transmission is so I can make an informed decision! I do not know very much about cars and I really appreciate getting some truthful information!!
thanks
to all , Happy holidays

BTW my car has a salvage title and has been a great car that I love for the last five years!

I would get a remanufactured tranny. The one at the salvage yard is probably at the end of its life, and you don't even know what condition it is in. For $800 more, go with the safer route.
