1999 acura TL 3.2 engine stopped for no reason
Hey I have a 1999 acura tl 3.2 with roughly around 150,000 miles on it. I bought it at about 135 and it hasnt given me problems since I purchased it until today. The engine made a weird noise and just shut off completely while I was driving it. Both times I just quickly put the car back into park and restarted it and it worked fine afterwards. No check engine line went on or any thing so im kind of worried. Is this normal? i tried reading through some of the other forums but I couldnt quite find one that spoke about a problem like this.

a bad Ignition Switch (a known problem) can cause the engine to shut down.
There was a recall...but some of the replacement switches have failed as well.

Maybe there is a problem with the distributor. You can check out the Acura manufacturer recall list for some history with this kind of problem. It is also possible that you have a bad ignition switch.
