How well are the CL Type-S 6-speeds selling?

Are they selling a lot or not? I hope they are so they throw a 6-speed in the TL Type-S.

Sales are down from last year by alot....they're only selling like 1,000 a month now. I don't know if that's the automatic model not selling, or a little bit of the automatic and 6spd not selling.

I know a month after it was released, my local dealer had like a 2 month waiting list. I stopped in last month and they had a couple on the lot. They won't put a 6 speed in the TL with the TSX coming out.

Selling 6-speeds

A very high volume Acura dealer told me they don't sell many manuals. Most people buy what's on the lot, which are usually autos. In my case, I had to wait 3 weeks for the car.
Since the CL isn't a high production vehicle like the RSX or MDX, the appeal for 6-speed cars should be pretty good when its time to sell it. Especially on sites like this.

You also have to keep in mind that the production of the 6-speed was somewhere around 2700 models for the 2003 year. I believe they have sold around 2000 of those.

Manuals are not very popular at all except with a select group of enthusiasts. Those enthusiats would most likely be looking at other companies... and if they are looking at Acura... they'd probably be looking at the RSX-S or the NSX depending on their income. I have a feeling that there may be a chance of a 6-speed in the TL... but I wouldn't count on it for sure....

Very small chance of that happening with the TSX coming out, which will definetly hve a 6 speed. I'd say the odds the redesigned 2004 TL gets it are about 10:1.
