Type S time slips

Ran the car at the track, only mod is the AEM intake.

The triptronic transmission is useless for drag racing, it will add at least a second to your time. You have to do it all manually, stick it in first and upshift up through third at 6800 rpms.

I'm a pretty good driver and have been down the strip hundreds of times in other cars, this is about as good as you will get without more mods.

Not bad for what it is.

I stuck it in first gear and then manually shifted it into second and then third.

It is pretty subjective. Some people think it is best using the sportshift, some people just leave it in auto and some manual shift it thru the gears. I guess it really depends on what works for you.

Manual shift is the fastest, then triptronic, then the regular automatic. You also have to turn the traction control off.

Sounds like you also need a little track advice.

Pull up to the lights and stop
Put your car into first gear
Put your left foot on the brake
Put your right foot on the gas and step about 1/3rd of the way down. The car will go up to about 1500 rpms(no more with the brake depressed)
Wait for the lights and on the last yellow (NOT GREEN) slide your left foot off the brake and floor it. Shift to second at red line and then the same for third. You will be at the end of the track before you need to shift it into fourth.

Rinse, repeat.
