Default HU Transplant attempt

Hey everyone,

I'm attempting to put the HU from my 99 integra in my dad's 00 accord, since I have an aftermarket one and he would like to have a cd deck intead of his tape deck. The two decks are the same size and have the same fitment exactly, but the wiring harnesses are considerably different. Does anybody have any idea where I might be able to find an adaptor where I can hook up a 2000 accord wiring harness to a 99 integra HU?

If you have an aftermarket deck then all you need is this part from your local best buy, kragen, circuit city, etc.

you will need a kit to make the radio fit into the accord. here is the link for that.

Please use the wiring adapter. It makes your life so much easier+you don't ruin your fathers car. Hacking into the factory radio harness is just wrong. And think its only 13 bucks for the correct part.

sorry, I should have been clearer.

It's the stock integra unit into the accord. The unit is a perfect match in terms of size and screw placement, it's just the wiring harness that's mismatched.

Thanks for the help. hopefully you guys can help me out further.

You need to get two wiring harnesses made by Metra electronics. You can probably get these at Circuit City or Best Buy:

METRA 70-1721 - to plug into the the Accords wiring harness
METRA 71-1720 - to plug into the Integra radio

Once you get the wiring harnesses, just match up the correct wires and it should work. I would try mounting the Integra radio first to make sure it mounts nicely(which it should).
