Default Kenwood KDC-MP522

I have a Kenwood KDC-MP522 CD/MP3 player that says "TOC error" everytime I try to play a CD or MP3. It just started doing this a couple of days ago. The unit is only 2 or 3 years old, so I can't believe it would crap out already. The manual says that it means:

*No disc has been loaded in the magazine
or
*The CD is quite dirty, the CD is upside down, or the CD is scratched a lot

Neither of these reasons are the problem in my case. I've tried several CDs, one of which was brand new so I know it isn't scratched or dirty. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem with Kenwoods before and if anything helped. I'm going to get a cleaner for it and see if that helps, but I thought I'd ask here also...Thanks

I would say try some cleaner. The laser head probably has some dust on it. Also, there is two motors - one that spins the cd and another that moves the laser on the track. If either has gone bad, the cd player will not read cd's.

A laser eye cleaning and realignment should do the trick.
