6 x 9 Mounting depth in '01 Accord Coupe

Hey I'm wondering if these speakers will fit in the rear of my 01 Accord EX Coupe:

http://www.infinitysystems.com/carau...er=REF&Cat=MEL

It lists the mounting depth as 2 and 7/8" for those speakers, but I already tried to install Infinity Kappa 693.5I 3 way 6 x 9's in the rear and they were too deep for the car. The Kappa's mounting depth is listed at 3 and 3/16". What mounting depth should I look for for my Accord and will the linked Reference speakers fit in the rear of my car? Thanks .

You can use a spacer to give you additional mounting depth. A 0.25" adapter should fit and still allow you to use the stock grill. Cut one out of 0.25" hardboard.

You could fashion some kind of spacer, or you can just get some poly spacers from your local hardware store. I know that they come in .25" and they fit right over the screw (can hardly tell). Then all you need to do is get a slightly bigger screw and screw it together.........easier than trying to cut out a wood spacer (for me anyways).

I have a 99 Integra GS (sedan) and used this method to "make" some 7x10's fit into the 6x9" holes, while still utilizing the OEM speaker grills.

Self explanatory. Something like this (except for a 6"x9").
