Default Need help/advice

Im gonna sound really stupid to all u guys, never owned a car before...so i have a 96 honda accord 2.2 vtec f22b2.... It threw a timing belt... Any way of telling if there are bent valves witout tearin the head off?

All F22s are interference engines so if you broke the timing belt you lost the only thing that keeps the pistons and valves from occupying the same space at the same time. Pulling the head is just going to tell you how many are bent and if you punched a hole in a piston.

That's an honest mechanic, keep them around. You don't have a timing belt, you have a timing chain. Although they go more time than a belt, it can still crack from regular use. Check out your manual book for replacement.

I was jus hoping i could find out anything befor i pulled it apart. I was told that since it was idling at the time it went that it might not have done any damage...
