1998accordlx

ok I ordered some new preassembled shocks and springs for my 98 honda accord. After installation i noticed the cars is sitting about 1.5 inches higher than it did on stock shocks...what do you guys recommend me doing....my mechanic says to give them time and they will dampen. But don't you guys think that is a little too high ???
