Default sohc or dohc

whats the difference between these two. i looked in my manual and it said i have a sohc does that nmake a difference for anything. i have a vtec 4cyl.

SOHC = Single Overhead Cam
DOHC= Dual Overhead Cam

And there is a rather large power difference between the two. I think itsh like nearly 50 WHP in some cases.

is dohc in the v6 edition? or is it also in the 4cyl

Not sure on the V6 but I do know that the only Accords to come with DOHC stock was the Type R which had the F20B DOHC No VTEC engine and the SiR which had the H22 DOHC VTEC engine.

I may have those turned around but thats the only I-4 Accords with DOHC that I know of.

so far as i can recall, honda has never made a DOHC V6.

Hehehe it is possible but dollars to donuts not worth it.

H22 or H23 head on an F22/F23 block can be done...average cost $1700+......average gains 30 hp.

The 03 accord I4's are DOHC.
