Default 2003 Coupe

Has anyone experienced any water leakage through the doors on their new coupes? I had some new Focal Speaker seperates put in about 4 months ago and have not had any problems until yesterday. The dealership instantly blamed the new speakers. I had them take the doors apart and I still see NO reason how the speakers are causing the problem. I am wondering if anyone is having any sort of problem? Just for the sake of being complete, the white plastic watershield is perfectly intact and sealed all the way around the door. The water seems to be dripping from under the speaker and from around the bottom of the door in general. It only seems to leak from the passenger door in large quantities and a small amount from the driver door. One side note is the black window bar is having to be replaced on both doors. I speak of the black bar that runs along the window on the outside of the door..The molding..Apparantly they warp in the heat and its NOT uncommon for all accord to need this replaced.

My real question is why didn't the doors leak through the other 20 rainstorms we have had here in Florida since I had the speakers installed? Why all of a sudden? I am wondering if the warped rails are allowing too much water to flow into the door. Meaning the door is not set up to drain so much water therefore its leaks into the car. The car is at the dealership still as they called in a leak specialist to prove me wrong.

Any thoughts?

I keep you all posted.

I have a 2003 Coupe that I've owned since March and havent had any problems with leaks at all and haven't heard of this problem with the 03's. It's possible that your moldings were flawed from the factory but I don't blame the dealership for pointing to your upgraded speakers because thats also possible. No matter what, nothing is better than OEM. It may sound better but those are universal speakers that aren't designed to fit just your car so their may be fitment issues. Just my 2cents.
