17s or 18s on 2003 Accord ... and wheel Suggestions needed!!!
OK, I knowq wheelmax.com is a good place to buy rims, but I'm pretty sure the tires they include are not exactly the greatest when it comes to wear, or 3-season (non-winter) applications.
I love my 18" Continental ExtremeContacts ... but thwe wheels - I have to guive it to everyone here - are FDAR too heavy for my car. I bought those massive chomies - and though I DO like the flash:
1 - They bring too much attention (don't need to have stuff stolen)
2 - They are REALLY heavy and KILL performance.
That being said, I guess maybe I should look at some lighter weight 17" options, unless someone can recommend a good lighter weight 18" wheel.
I REALLY want to buy from a place that can mount on the tire I want - the ExtremeContacts - without paying extra for mounting and balancing, etc. locally.
I want somehting grey-ish (the wheels) so it kinda blends in with the car ... and the only place I can find that sells 17s and has Contis that I want, and mounts and balances for free is good old tirerack.com
There are the 17s I was looking at:
it comes to a bit belopw $1100 shipped, mounted and ballanced. A bit too steep?
Help!
Will these wheels be too heavy as well?
PS -- here's how 17s would look on a 2001 Accord Coupe - the wheels piuctured are in silver, and not the hHyperBlack look I'd get - and obviously my Accord is the 7th Gen 03 ... but you get the idea

For just about anything, your going to have to shell out $$... If you need to know the specific weights of wheels, its best to call the manufacturer. Or use your friendly search engine, and just search.
For lighter 18" weight wheels, look towards Volks, SSR, BBS
The Racing Hart CP035 are light.
The SSR Competition @ 18x7.5 weighs 14.5 lbs

Hyper Black Wheels just have that semi- gunmetal look -but not as dark - and somewhat shiny. They are exactly as the picture shows above - of thwe wheel only - not on the car. The ones on the car are the normal silver.
I'm now contemplating some VERY expensive wheels - by BBS - but they are exactly the look I want. Does anyone know if you can 'haggle' down tirerack.com people at all over the phone?
Anyways - here's the wheels I WANT - but at $529 EACH they're extremely expensive - but at arouind 15-18 lbs. each (not EXACTLY sure) they are light as hell.

I could of sworn we told you to take those wheels back even before you put them on the car....
If you have the money for a new Accord, you probably have the money for some lighter weight 18's. As I recall...your 18's weighed 30lbs a piece!!! So anything would be an improvement. Good luck selling those things.

First, do you know exactly what you want? There are a lot of options such as:
chrome
powdercoat
gunmetal
5 spoke
6 spoke
>7 spoke
lip
no lip
polished lip
machined
I bought a set of 18" SSR's newly used and I got a great deal on them. Good luck.
