5 speed 03 Accord, how much should I expect to pay?
How much above invoice should I expect to pay for the 5 speed, 03 Honda Accord? I am located in Orlando, FL. Can I expect below invoice in certain part of the country?
I just test drove the Camry auto 4 cylinder and it cost around $16,000 (sticker $19K), I believe the Accord will be more.
Thanks,

Not trying to sound like a smartass but 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic? They are both 5-speed now.

you probably could get invoice or less than invoice if the car you want is on the dealer's lot. also, if you go on a really rainy day they sometimes they discount more.
I got my v6 for invoice because i went right before when it was supposed to snow.

why is that lame? I really did not plan it that way but the day i called and asked the sales manager for the car at invoice price was the day it was going to snow. I know of others that have gotten good deals on days with bad weather.

I also got lucky at the dealership I went to. I got my 03 V6-AT right after alot of snow in a mountian town. The dealer was selling Pilots, CRV's, and Elements like crazy, but I noticed that they had a white coupe on the lot for about a month. When I stopped in I named my price, payment, and terms (even on my trade).

I paid $20,909 for my 03 NBP automatic coupe 2.4 4cyl with 2.25%. This was the lowest apr at the time for Accords. Perfect credit on civics can get you 0.9%. I'm sure if you have excellent credit you can walk out the door somewhere around 18-19k for an EX model.

$18-19K out of the door for an EX, isn't that $900-$1900 below invoice of $19,900? Can I get an Accord for $1,000 below invoice? I just walk out of the dealer and they called to offer me $1 over invoice for a 2003 LX accord 5 speed manual? Of course I asked for the invoice price and they said I have to showup to see it? On the interest, I was quoted 4.99%, but I can pay cash if the interest is over 3%.
Does anyone think I can get a LX, 5 speed manual for $17K when the invoice is $17,700? Buying car is sure CRAZY

i got my 5spd ex for 21100 otd.. so i guess the dealer made like 200 bucks off me =P.. i got it in nov..
-
I think I payed $22,225 or something like that for mine... its an EX four cylinder with leather and the auto transmission... i wrote up a check for the whole thing.

On another note.... I paid 28317 with tax (8% in NY) so I really paid 26219 for my car with spoiler and mp3.

The dealers seem very willing to negotiate, I got a Manual Transmission, EX Leather with Navigation for $22,000.
The invoice on the car (dealer showed me the papers from Honda) was $22,400. The Holdback from Honda on this car is like $750 so they made about $350 on the deal. Not bad concidering they had to do a dealer trade to get me the color that I wanted.

What part of the country are you located at? I just look up KBB and the invoice states $22,955, so it seems like you got a great deal. Is there always a difference between paper from Honda and KBB invoice pricing?
With everyone's help, I am getting closer to become a first time Honda Owner (not counting Acura, of course).
Thanks,

Thanks,
I am in the San Francisco Bay Area. The inovice price and the fair market value of the car does change from place to place. Invoice generally changes over the course of time rather then location.
There are 2 great sites to help get an idea of fair market value:
www.carsdirect.com - Great at determining fair market value for your zip code.
www.consumerreports.org - For $12 you can buy a report that gives you all of the information needed to calculate true wholesale price for the car. It covers invoice price and dealer holdbacks based on location.
If you have not checked these sites out already they are worth taking the time to investiagte. Remember in our current state of economy you are in contol of this sale not the dealer, which is a nice change of pace.
