Default Engine Light Is On!

HI GUYS!

I OWN A 98 ACCORD SEDAN AND A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO I WENT TO MY FRIEND'S SHOP TO FIX MY EXHAUST (THAT GOT MESSED UP WHEN MY DAD BACKED UP INTO A BUMP AND CRIMPED THE AXLE BACK PIPING. ) WELL THE PROBLEM NOW IS....THE O2 SENSOR HARNESS CAME LOOSE AND NONE OF US KNOW WHAT THE PIN PATTERN IS TO PUT IT BACK CORRECTLY. NOW I HAVE THIS 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT ON. HAVE ANY OF YOU HAD THIS EXPERIENCE BEFORE AND/OR HAVE A MAP SO I SHUT THIS ANNOYING LIGHT OFF?

THANKS!

Hmm, not sure about that. You can always double check to make sure the fuel cap is tightened...

No need to check the fuel cap. You already know what you did. If you messed up your O2 sensor or its harness, then that would definitely set off the check engine light. Fix the O2 sensor and your problem will be solved.

thanks for the reply but the problem is that it is not broken and faulty. there is a certain pin combination for the O2 censor ( the one that connects around the cat) and i cant figure out which infinite possible arrangements it would be.

Is the setup listed in the Haynes or other manuals?

If not, I'd say just take the problem to the Honda dealership and shell out the money (or if you're really cheap you can try to say that it was already broken when you got the car) . You can also try to ask them for the combination. Someone is bound to know. Anyway, good luck.
