Default 5th gen questions

currently i own a 92 accord, and im looking into buying a 95 accord ex v6. it has very low miles (44k) and a nice price of 10k. I love this car, but I have a couple questions first.

1. Does the ex v6 also have VTEC?.....I know the ex i4 has it
2. Any v6 5th gen owners on here that have a hard time finding performance products for your cars?

thanks,
Ryan

From what i hear, the 95 v-6 auto isn't that great. I read it was sluggish and not very responsive. Supposedly its hard to find engine mods for it and the I-4 manual ex with v-tec is faster and more responsive.

exactly, the 4 cyl ex manual is faster in the 1320 and 0-60. if you want something that has decent low end torque get the v6, but for modding definately get a lx or ex manual(ex if you're not swapping). the 5th gen v6 is heavier, has an auto and has no vtec. it has a 2.7 liter motor making 170 hp, the same motor from the legend(c27).

If you get the v6, I'm sure you could swap the cl-s motor and tranny in there if you wanted to but it would def be expensive. I don't know for sure if you can but I am just assuming that it should fit in there. If you did and it is possible, would be great. I would be so jealous!!!!

a 6th gen j30 can go into a 5th gen v6 engine bay. ive seen it done before. i dont think the j32 would be much of a stretch

as for 5th gen v6 mods: an aem cai will fit with slight mods, greddy makes a cat back, wings west makes a body/lip kit, eibach and neuspeed make springs

ive seen a 5th gen v6 with bolt ons and a dry nitrous exp. system do low 14s in the 1320. it feels way faster off the line than my 96 ex i4 auto, but i can usually beat my friends 96 ex v6 on the highway. the V6 is VERY smooth though.....

body kits are unique to the 6 cyl and cant swap with 4cyl. Its a great stock car.
