Default remove oxidation on paint

Have a patch of white oxidated spot on the trunk lid of my black accord.Try with 3m rubbing compound and meguire scratch x and it doesn't remove the spot.Anyone with a solution

Sounds like you may have a failing clear coat. It is all over my 96 accord on the roof and trunk. It is starting on the hood as just a bunch of faded white spots... that will eventually grow as the clear continues to separate.

I have looked into solutions and am considering spot repainting. A cheap way to go for an older car with some issues.

Do you wax? I have read that waxing helps the clear coat to last longer.

The only real solution I have read is a repaint of the effected areas.
