Default '98 Coupe, EX-L -- Passenger door window makes bad noise and won't go up (video)

Hello friends. It's been a while since I posted last.

http://www.kenton.org/window.avi

Anyways, if you can't here's what happens. It's a power window of course.

When I roll it up when it's all the way down, it's GREAT and error free until about 97% from the top. It starts making a TERRIBLE *thunkthunkthunk* noise and will not finish going up all the way.

The noise in the video is this *thunkthunkthunk*

I can also move the window back and forth (side to side) if I try to push on it with my hands. I can push the window up 100% of the way but it slides back down when the door is closed or something.

Cliffs:

- Windows switch works fine, door window goes up and down just fine.
- When window is ALMOST closed it starts making terrible noises and will not fully close.
- Window can be moved around with hands.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I had this problem in my Civic. You probably need a new window regulator. I bought one on ebay.

You don't think anything more inside is broken, given that I can slide the glass around with my hands?

It sounds to me like it is slipping on the rail like broken teeth sound.

I would take the door panel and the plastic and roll the window up/down and look at the mechanism while doing so. You might have a better insight of what is going on.
