new (used) accord owner with question about keys and remotes
Hi all,
I just bought a 98 accord ex coupe, and the only key that came with it is a gray head key. I believe this is a valet key since it will not open the trunk.
My question is:
Do the regular keys have security chips in them?
Also, I need remotes too, so can I program them or is it a dealer only thing?
Thanks in advance!

Regular keys do have the security chip in them, yes.
As far as the remote goes, I'm not sure, you might need to go to dealer, but I'm not sure, maybe do a search on here and see what you can dig up.

Yep, you have the valet key. That's why you can't open the trunk, glove box, rear deck or lock/unlock the trunk from the inside. What you can do is take your registration to the dealer and they can cut code you a master key.
