buying the new Accord 06 LX

i just went to the dealer and test drive the new Accord 06 today and the new 06 Civic Coupe, well i really like both of them but probably will get the accord. since they don't have discount for civic right now. (they're hot)

i try to bargain with the guy for the Accord 2006 LX with Leather. for around 21500 that's the lowest he gave me and will not off any more.

i wonder if this is a good price. i am in Houston, Texas.

    thanks for reading.
if i am posting this in the wrong forum please move for me.

IMO its always good to buy a car a year older cause i.e. a used car

1> The moment you get home from the dealership, the value of your new car is already dropped 2 gs
2> Its already broken in and the paint is healed.
3> They sell it certified and you get extended powertrain warranty on the tranny and engine.

Now thats just me. 21.5k is not bad and you can do alot of swaps in the future to get most of the EX features.

Goodluck BTW and welcome to HAN

    Hi James281,

I believe $21,500 is a good deal. Also, when buying a new car it is always better to buy coming year (i.e. 2006) then 2005s because you are financing it and the 2006 car will better keep its value (i.e. after you're doing paying for it 5 years from now it will be worth more then 2005).

Good luck with your purchase and car and welcome to HAN.

If the Accord equipped like that was selling for that price it would go very quickly up here. Sounds like a good deal, but also consider the 8th gen may be around the corner but with this 7th gen I'm sure they worked out a lot of the minor quirks.

badtameezboy, Thanks for the welcome! i would buy used car but the thing is i never own a brand new one haha this is my first chance to get a brand new one. i've own 2 accord previous one is 1994 and have 145,000miles on it and the one i am driving right now is a 98 with 135,000miles already. so i decided is time to get a new one. i have a few option the accord 06, the civic coupe 06, the RSX 06. well i haven't try RSX yet but i know that i love accord more.

Accord2005NJ, thanks for the info, so that's a good deal ehh, i haven't even try other honda dealer around town yet, maybe this weekend i will get a chance to drive around.

evolution, yeah i know they'll have a new 8th gen accord out soon around 2008 if i am not wrong. its kinda hard not to buy it now since i actually like 4doors 06 tail light its LED and look really nice. haha
the only reason i consider a civic because is cheaper, the test drive feel pretty good, better than what i remember. plus the nice design and them speed odometer damn its digital like the s2k

i'll post some picture if i do buy it.

Good luck on it. Have you tried pricing it with an OEM skirt package and then working down the deal? Last year around Boxing day (day after Christmas) or so they were offering free lip kits and $500 bucks worth of gas.

well guys thanks for the tips, i think i made a pretty good deal, i know they still make money on me but no other dealer can beat this price. well this is my 3rd accord

i just bought the accord 2 doors Auto LX with leather and aloy wheels. for 20,700 basically 19,600 is the price for the car, and 1100 is for leather. i also got the 5yrs package warranty for paint and leather. (499.00) free in my case.

will post picture tomorrow when its a nicer day outside to take some pictures

lol now time for ebay .. i need some accessories
