Default 1997 Accord SRS light problem

I own a 97 Honda Accord. When I bought it it was hit on the front side. The airbags were not deployed neither did the light came on. When I took it to a shop to get it fixed they have taken out the SRS fuse so it wouldnt deploy while they pulled the frame. After they replaced the fuse, the SRS light came on. Ever since then I have been trying to find out how to reset this. I tried the self diagnostics code but I can't really understand what it tells me. If anyone has the trouble codes for this SRS system please let me know I will be greatly thankful...

I'm sorry I'm new to this kind of forum threads, what did you mean by FAQ??? Is that something that everyone deals with?? Can I get the codes somehow or do I have to go to dealer which I don't want to pay that kind of money.

Perhaps the thread stickied at the top that says FAQ. Or search for DTC. You can do it

The DTC's that are listed are for the accords 98-up. Do you have any for 97 or are they still thesame. Also, when I do the diagnostic test, first blinks the SRS twice long, then the ABS blinks twice short, then the SRS blinks once long and then the ABS blinks once short, then the SRS blinks 7 long and 2 short. Is that 3 different codes or do I count that as one???? Please help!!!!

Like I said, search for DTC. or FAQ. Once you have the code post it in that thread and me or someone can help you troubleshoot it.

if they unpluged the airbags when they worked on the car and turned on the key durring that time then the code will be set as a 2-2 is the passenger side airbag open just reset the code and you should be fine ..use the MES connector it's on the drivers side it's a yellow 2pin plug connected to nothing .

Post it in the DTC thread and I'll get you answers if stereo's idea doesn't work.

I can't imagine anyone unplugging the airbag without unplugging the battery though, that's stupid.

you would be amazed...usally when they start to work on a car they disconnect the battery and the airbags then work on the car when finished they hook the battery up and start it OOPS! the srs light is on now to reset you use the MES connector with a jumper wire shorting the plug turn the key after 6 sec. the srs light will go out ,remove the jumper withn 4 sec. and the light will come back on again ,withn 4 sec of the light coming back on short the connector again the srs light will blink 2 times and and stay out...unless theres a problem then the light will come back on after the 2 blinks.
