Default Failed tranny on a 7th gen Accord.

I bought a certified 03 Accord EX V6 about 2 months ago from a dealer. I always felt a little jerk in the transmission and even took it to a dealer but they said it was normal.
Yesterday while going towards Utah, after driving about 50 miles, the check engine light came on with the hazard light and the D4 light started blinking.
I pulled over and looked under the hood, there was some transmission fluid right below the intake and was kinda burning.
I took it to a dealership to get it checked and they told me the tranny got overheated and the fluid is burned so they have to replace the whole tranny.
I hope they dont put some remanufactured crap in my car.

Does anybody ever had the same problem on a 7th gen accord or am I the first one. It only got 24k miles on it so I think its quite unusual.

I guess the previous owner messed it up, It is in excellent condition overall though with out any flaws. They even sold it Certified.
What Iam trying to know is that has anybody ever had problem with the 7th gen. Is this a common problem in the 7th gen like the 6th gen or is it just my badluck.

Never heard of a 7th gen tranny failure. It sounds like a simple factory defect or a blocked cooling line. Maybe the previous owner did a few neutral drops the week before he got rid of the car.

7th gen failures are rare, but probably only because they are so new.

Certified doesnt mean anything anymore. They are all certified ,,,,by who? The dealer that ripps you off when you buy them. They only certify the cars if they think they can pass it. You ever see any 90's ford escorts certified? good luck on the tranny

Thanks alot for all the help, they will return the car aound Thursday and I will let everyone know about it.
I think after all the trouble Honda had with the 6th gen tranny, the 7th gen should be better atleast. They are fixing it for free and even gave me a Rental for free but it still worries me a little bit because 03 was the first year of the 7th gen so it might be flawed or not so perfect.
I will definitly keep everyone informed cause I think its important.
Thanks again.

I forgot to post on this one, They did fixe my tranny but didnt put a new one.

The reason they gave me was the tranny got overheated and it burned all the Fluid and the Shift Solenoids, Thier technician flushed the tranny fluid and then checked the gears with a Digital Camera. Everything is fine in there.
They put new Solenoids and Fluid in there. The car seems to be fine except it a little Heavier now, the pickup is not quick like before and I felt a little loss of HP.
Any suggestions?
