Default can anyone bypass the immobilizer in a 99 Accord 2dr 4cyl vtec??

Im still having a problem with my accord not starting. I put the key in turn it and the engine spins over but doesnt crank up(the little green key light on the dash just flashes and never stops). I called honda they said there is a problem with ether the key or the immobilizer. I called out a lock smith and he said my key was fine(even made a new one that didnt work either) and that my immobilizer was the problem not the key. Does anyone know where the immobilizer is located or if there is anyway possible to bypass it? I have talked to several diffrent people about it(honda was no help, they said bring it in and we'll check it out for $150 + parts. which is money that i dont have right now). Their answers have ranged from the immobilizer being in the radio, to it being its own module under the dash, to it being in the ecu. If it is in the ecu does anyone think it would be possible to get an OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness and just use a p13 or simular ecu and bypass it that way. I really need some suggestions.

You did an h22 swap correct? From what ive heard about this swap is you need the correct ecu and key for it to work. I know it can be bypassed when you use a remote starter, but I dont that will work for your application.

your trying to start the car with a copy of original? its not going to work you need a original key from honda. if anything look at the ecu make sure its the original and the key is too .key and ecu are mates. wont work with out each other.

Don't you need the key code?
My key had a 4 or 5 digit key code.

they do make aftermarket keys that can be programmed. It sounds like the locksmith knew it was an immobilizer key by the way he describes the situation... so he should know a regular copied key would not work.

If not, yes you are correct.

Yeah the way the immobilizer works is the key and ecu talk to each other on startup. If they dont match, the car doesnt start as youve seen. Which could mean a number of things. My first guess would be to try another key. Second did you damage or shortout the ecu in any way? Lastly there could be some wiring issue, or maybe the ignition recall problem with 6th gens. Those are all the problems i could think of. Good luck.

Thanks for everones input. But my main question is does anyone think that by getting a conversion harness and putting an obd1 ecu in the car that i could bypass the imoblizer all together?

In theory that should work. Check out www.honduh.com. I think theres a few members who have done an ODB1 conversion, they would know better than I.
