Sick of your automatic transmission shifter?
I was too, so I got a 99 Acura TL 4 speed SportShift assembly off ebay.
It took about 1:30 to put in and required some modifcation, such as some plastic cutting to make the black console fit over it and the cupholder to go in. I think it turned out great. Cheap mod, I believe I'm the first to do it. At least I haven't seen anyone else try it.
Notes:
- When put in SportShift gate, tranny stays in D4 when "upshifted" or "downshifted"
- The assembly is a lot "flatter" than the Accord's, causing a gap between the back of the shiftgate and the console. There's also a gap infront of the assembly, but it's not very noticeable
- I now have a fake fake manual transmission
Any questions, feel free. Simple install and well worth it.

Pic
I love it. I dunno why my steering wheel looks so weird in the first pic, I guess because I had just put meguiar's leather care on the steering wheel. It was probably still wet, everything is usually the same color.

I dunno if you've ever opened up your auto tranny or taken the console apart, but the only thing that connects your shifter to the tranny is a metal cable. All me and my buddy had to do was disconnect the cable from the old shifter and pop it on this one, making sure that it was on the same gear. The gated or ungated doesnt matter since you're only making the cable move fore and aft.
I dunno, my girlfriend gets in the car the first thing she says is "wow that's ugly"....I guess it's a car guy thing because I love it The only thing I dont like is that it's much lower, so I can't rest my wrist on it while im changing the radio or just cruising with my right arm on the armrest. But that's a minor annoyance that I'll get used to.
