I just passed the 10k mark on my 2003 accord coupe and noticed that the maintenance required light is permanently on. i am going to take my car in the dealership this friday for that 10k recommended maintenance procedure. (got the coupon in the mail)

im just wondering if the light being on @ 10k is normal. thanks

Yes. Just open up your owners manual. It not only points out the maintenance chart in accordance to mileage, but also shows you how to reset the light if you get it serviced outside of a dealership.

thanks for the reply. i don't have the owner's manual at the moment because its at my place down south. how do you turn off the lite anyway?

Press the odometer reset button before you turn on the key. Hold it down while the maintenance light does it's thing, it'll go out. Then it'll come back on again in another 10k miles...

can u do that even if the light hasn't come on? does it automatically reset the light, even if it's not on yet, for the next mileage interval?
