Default 93 civic brake lights don't work

has anyone ever had problems with a 93 civic dx where the brake lights did not work but everything else works (all running lights). there is no power at the brake light switch on either side and i can't find a fuse that works the brake lights. is there an in line fuse or a relay that works the lights?

Does you horn work? In the fuse box under the hood, Fuse #42 is for "Horns, Brake system". It is a 20 A fuse.

edit: It could also be the brake light switch attached to your pedal.

Maybe you are using the wrong size fuse?
