Default Wide band O2 from a VTEC-E?

I heard from another forum that the 96+ Civic HX (the one w/ VTEC-E) and the Insight has a wide(r) band o2 sensor. Is that true or just myth? Thanks.

It's not designed as a wideband O2, you can also use the VX O2. It's merely a stock 5 wire O2.

Yours shouldn't be 3, mine is 4. I have a 2000 as well.

The 5 wire VX O2 sensor (NTK L1H1) IS a wideband sensor. However, they're being discontinued and are impossible to find at auto parts stores.

You would also need a wideband O2 controller designed for the sensor, which can be acquired from a couple places, or you can buy kits and build them yourself.

Can I order the VX O2 from a Honda dealer and use a A/F meter to read it? On the DIY WB O2 page, how much is AUS$560 converted to US$? Thanks.

Ditto, also, btw, the AEM wideband 02 just came out, KS-motorsports.com, great guys. $400 bucks, and it uses the Bosch UEGO, which isn't impossible to find.
